We made our own Christmassy version of Bombe Alaska for our Christmas dinner (which we charmingling pronounce as ‘Christmas bombies’). We used Nigella Lawson’s recipe for ‘Iced Rum Sauce’ for the filling, which we then froze in moulds (Maxwell & Williams coffee cups). We made a simple meringue and smothered the filling with it and then toasted it in the oven.
